Sakura (Reconstructed Series)

Large multi-panelled artwork in mixed media (acrylic and oil paint, textile: antique Japanese kimono).

This artwork consists of different pieces of canvas mounted together. Part of the Reconstructed series and my ongoing Zen Studies.
I found inspiration from cherry blossom (‘Sakura’ in Japanese) which is shown on the silk piece of antique Japanese kimono that I used in this artwork.

Sakura has been featured in ‘A Softer Side: Textiles’ Collection on Saatchi Art curated by Victoria Kennedy, Associate Curator on August 5, 2019. This collection has ‘A focus on art that incorporates the most important everyday materials – natural fibers, textiles, and thread!’.
